Anticipate Fewer Huge Media Offers Subsequent Decade, Says High Deal Maker

One of the media industry’s most prolific deal makers is predicting a slowdown in big acquisitions over the next decade.

Aryeh Bourkoff, whose company, LionTree LLC, has helped shepherd about $500 billion in transactions since its founding in 2012, expects the next decade to be defined by the biggest media companies—the likes of Walt Disney Co., Netflix Inc. and AT&T Inc.—building out their direct-to-consumer operations and developing other strategies that won’t always require huge deals.
