Native Brum mum and business girl units up on-line Vacation Camp to entertain youngsters

Birmingham based Mum and founder of The Strings Club has set up an online Holiday Camp – to give parents a breather during the Covid crisis.

Recent government guidelines have insisted that millions of children will not be able to return to school until September. Economic consultancy Pantheon estimates that school closures will have created a major childcare problem for around 4 million families and that around 2.5 million workers—7.5 per cent of the UK workforce —are considering having to take leave from their jobs to look after their children.

Parents who are struggling to juggle childcare, home education and jobs during the Coronavirus crisis can sign their children up to a morning of high-quality, fun-filled education and music with The Strings Club. Prices start from £10 a day and parents can have as many or as few days as they want.

“Let us take the children off your hands for a few hours,” said founder and mum Amy Cunningham who set up The Strings Club in 2012. Since then, the multi award-winning music education company has inspired almost half a million children through their range of programmes including their Ofsted-registered Holiday Camps.

Children aged 3-11 can take part in a whole morning of fun-filled activities – designed to develop them in more ways than one – and give parents a breather or the chance to get on with work at home.

It is usually this time of year when The Strings Club would be busy preparing for their busy summer of Holiday Camps – but due to government guidelines may not be able to go ahead – so Amy and her team have quickly adapted the business and bringing the joys of their Holiday Camps online.

“We know many parents are juggling a million plates – I know full well myself! From the beginning of lockdown, we had to quickly adapt the business and have been running our Daily Guitar, Ukulele, Violin and Music Club Sessions from Dallas to Peckham to Barcelona! With many children not heading back to school until September, we want to go that extra mile and really support parents. This is something as a busy parent myself I feel very passionate about,’ Amy said

Music Club Leader Rich quotes, “It’s like taking the children to school – without leaving the house. We do all the hard work. The parents can be in the same room as their children as they’re getting educated and having fun – or it gives them time to get on with a bit of work or just take a breath.”

The Strings Club Online Holiday Camp launches Monday 29th June at 09:30am and is led by a team of friendly, experienced, DBS-checked teachers including Rich, Martha and Lewis.
